a ceremony held on Sunday, April 1, in the village in Santa Izabel do
Morro Bananal Island, was given to the women potters of the nation
Karajá, the certificate of Cultural Heritage of Brazil for the doll
"Rtxoco" art developed by them.
Attended
the ceremony, Secretary of State for Culture, Katia Rocha, president of
Fapt - Foundation for Research Support of Tocantins, Andrea Stival, and
the Secretaries of State for Agriculture and Education, respectively
Jaime Coffee and Danilo de Melo, on

of Iphan - Institute for National Artistic and Historical Heritage of
Tocantins, Goias and Brasilia.

meetings with the Council of Indigenous Education, for setting and
monitoring of government actions by communities. Danilo

of Women Iny (INA) Lenimar Werreria in his speech, the inclusion of
indigenous youth in the projects and programs of the Department of
Education and other departments in which they are not already included,
will be met .
In
addition to the leaders who spoke at the event, several leaders
representing other villages were present, among them the chief and his
deputy Ixanduedu Karajá Karaja Wenona, the technical coordinator of the
local FUNAI - National Indian Foundation and community leader Pastor
